More Tax Cuts = Fewer Public Services
March 29 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cape Ann Indivisible and community members met with MA State Reps and Senators from across MA Congressional District 6, to discuss tax cut proposals (big ones for the wealthy, small ones for everyone else) resulting in broad cuts to the services we rely on. As Barbara Jo Krieger described it, “Fiscal policy is not abstract..it is lived reality. It shapes whether our public schools are fully resourced, whether families can put food on the table, ..and whether vulnerable children and working households receive the support they need.”
Fortunately, we do have options: advancing Corporate Fair Share legislation, decoupling from costly federal tax provisions, making responsible use of the Rainy Day Fund, and carefully evaluating proposed tax-cut ballot measures.

Legislators respond to informed, consistent community engagement. Your emails, calls, meetings and letters to the editor can shape priorities, influence decisions and define what is politically possible.
The fiscal decisions ahead will shape our shared future. Together, we have both the opportunity and responsibility to ensure that future reflects our values, and our commitment to one another.
